La Rose en Provence is a wing of a traditional 18th century farmhouse In Cheval Blanc, Vaucluse in France.  Cheval Blanc is a small farming village in the heart of Provence situated in the Durance Valley between the Luberon and Alpilles Mountains.
The property is situated 800m from the village church, and is quiet and secluded.
I have restored a wing of this farmhouse, built at the end of the 18th century, to create an apartment of character and charm.

Locally you will find tennis courts, golf, swimming pools, horse riding, hiking in the mountains, fishing, canoeing.
Visiting the markets and 'les routes des vins' is a must.


The Accommodation:

Throughout it is prettily decorated with little treasures everywhere.

Ground floor:

  • Fully equipped traditional French looking kitchen.

  • Large  lounge/dining room (35metres square),   beautifully furnished with local antiques and large fireplace.

Upper floor:

  • Two double bedrooms.

  • Shower room.

  • Separate w.c.

Outside:

  • In the garden, where you can sunbathe and relax, you have views of the Luberon to the East and the Alpilles to the West.  There is sunshine from morning to evening. 

  • It is quiet and secluded and set in one hectare of gardens and orchard. 

  • Rose Garden.

  • Terrace with Barbeque.

  • Garden furniture.

  • Parking. 

The Area:

In Cheval Blanc there is all you will need, post office, boulangerie, butcher, cafe, restaurant, chemist, etc.

Within easy reach is Avignon (25km), with its festivals.  Isle sur la sorgue for antiques and markets.

The picturesque 'villages perches' of Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, Lacoste, Oppede and Menerbes are but a short drive away.  
In this area there is a plethora of Roman remains; Orange with its theatre, Viason la Romaine - a Roman village, Arles and Nimes have their amphitheatres as well as their folklore.

You are ten minutes away from the motorway (at Cavaillon) so that you can visit the Camargue and the Coast within an hour.

  • The price includes all linen, towels and electricity. There are no extra costs.

  • We welcome you with a meal and local wine on the evening of arrival.

  • I can prepare 'La cuisine Provencale' in the evenings, if you wish, at a cost of 100 frs. per person including wine.
